How Effective is Your Networking?

Everyday. Successful businesses are well aware of what it takes to create and maintain a successful business. Having supported over 70,000 business owners and professionals in private practice over the past 30+ years, one of the most common mistakes I see them make with regard to marketing their businesses is they don’t have a plan and only implement their strategies, hit and miss, when they find themselves without enough customers to make ends meet. In any economy, it is important for business owners and professionals to implement their marking plan on a continuous basis, and actually do twice as much during a recession.

If you are not sure if you need to do some marketing for your business, ask yourself some very simple questions:

  1. Do you have all the customers you want?
  2. If you continue to rely on what you are doing now to generate new customers will you acquire all the customers you want within your designed time line?
  3. If you do nothing, do you think your business will be at the level you want in 6 months?
  4. Do you know what you need to do to effectively market your business?
  5. Do you feel enough potential customers know who you are and what services you offer? If so, do you know why you don't have enough customers/clients and do you know what to do to get them to become your customer?
  6. If you know you need to do something proactive to get new customers but you just don't have the time, have you asked yourself how are you going to grow your business if you don't finally resolve this issue?

If your answers are not favorable to you…it is probably time for you to do something proactive to grow your business. Even if we are not the right organization for you, from a marketing perspective, we encourage you to do something about marketing your business and we suggest you begin now. You will want to ensure your business or practice remains visible to your target group of customers, so you will always be in the loop of consideration when your customers are ready to buy!

Despite the ups and downs of consumer spending, it is important for your business to maintain an effective marketing plan that will be consistently implemented to your potential clients. In any economy, remaining visible to your target group is vital. You want consumers to think of you and/or your product when they are in need and are ready to buy.
